Jayant Hubli
Jayant Hubli, a recipient of the Karnataka Lalita Kala Academy Award (2003) and the Mysore Dasara Award (2014), is an Indian artist renowned for his work in various art forms, such as charcoal, acrylic, and woodwork, with a special emphasis on utilizing waste plywood pieces.
Jayant Hubli earned a Master's Degree in Fine Arts and drew inspiration from his father, B.K. Hubli, a distinguished artist from North Karnataka. He attended CAVA (Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts) in Mysore, completing his studies in 1986. Jayant is recognized for his exploration of a range of mediums, including watercolor, oil, charcoal, color pastels, and mixed media. He has a particular fondness for working with charcoal, acrylic, and woodwork, often taking inspiration from natural patterns. Specializing in woodwork art, he uses waste plywood pieces from factories as his medium. He selects a central piece of wood that inspires the entire creation and then constructs around it.
